The built-in microphone works decently for taking calls, but only if you hold the watch close to your face.

Apple has been able to suppress a number of sensors and features in the Apple Watch. All-day heart-rate tracking with uninterrupted SpO2 readings, an always-on display that is incredibly bright and can take a toll on the battery connected to the iPhone via continuous Bluetooth. In this regard, Apple is still able to claim 18 hours of battery life, just like the Series 5. On the one hand, you’re happy to have all these new features without hitting the battery life, but you’ve realized that Apple hasn’t been able to extend battery life. I was able to run the watch easily for about 18 hours before I put the watch on charge. This, annoyingly, has a serious drawback. You are losing health data every day for the time the watch is in charge. This can affect the calculation of your “rest” metrics such as resting heart-rate, burning calories at rest, etc. If you don’t care for them, it’s still a gap in your daily health data, and it’s not. I personally like it. The silver lining here is that instead of hours to back up the charge, thanks to the new S6 SiP, the Apple Watch Series 6 goes from zero to 100 in 90 minutes.

Should you buy Apple Watch Series 6?

Anyone looking for a new smartwatch in any part of the Apple ecosystem needs to consider the Apple Watch Series 6. First-time buyers or those looking to switch to their Series 4 (or more) can certainly consider the Series 6 as a very viable option. Those who have Series 5 can wait for the next Apple Watch. If you are someone who takes their fitness metrics very seriously, the Apple Watch offers one of the best tracking capabilities across a wide range of metrics, the downside of which is the health app, which refuses to release granular data.
